Make a poppy for alumni remembrance display
17th September 2018
We’re planning to display 264 poppies at FCH Chapel in the lead up to Remembrance Sunday – one for each of our alumni who died during the First World War.
Budding volunteers are needed to contribute to the ‘Field of Poppies’ crochet display which will be in the University Chapel at Francis Close Hall in the week leading up to Remembrance Sunday (5 to 9 November).
Veteran at crochet?
The poppies will be made using a provided crochet pattern and materials, so as long as you have basic crochet skills and a 6mm crochet hook you will be able to help.
New to crochet?
If you are relatively new to crochet, Allison Davis will be happy to run through the pattern and the stitches in detail with you to get you started.
Never crocheted?
If you still want to contribute but cannot crochet, there will be drop-in sessions to assemble the poppies during October.
