Congratulations to School of Media alumnus Alex Lockwood whose film ’73 Cows’ won a BAFTA last night for best British Short Film!

The short film tells the story of the first UK farmer to embrace sustainable organic vegan farming, giving up his entire herd of cattle in the process.

Senior Lecturer in Film Production, Mike Parker, said: “We are thrilled to see Alex being awarded a BAFTA last night for the Short film ’73 Cows’. We are very proud to see our graduates succeeding in the industry and their hard work being recognised at such a prestigious event. This award is the culmination of a series of successes for students and recent graduates at the BA Hons Film Production course at the University of Gloucestershire. Tomorrow we have 3 films from current students and 3 films from students who graduated in 2018 shortlisted for awards at the RTS [Royal Television Society] for films made on the course. We wish all the shortlisted teams every success at the awards ceremony tomorrow.”
