Can you help current students?

Now, more than ever, our current students will benefit from the experiences of graduates who have gone before them. The future jobs market looks uncertain, but hearing from alumni who can share their own journeys from university to their current career can provide students with inspiration, practical tips and a sense that their goals are achievable.

If you would like to share your experienced with our students (whether you achieved your initial career goals or ended up following a very different path) then the Your Future Plan (YFP) team at the university would love to invite you to be part of their Alumni Stories panel during their flagship employability festival – the Your Future Plan Festival – in the week of 1 – 5 March 2021 (final date and timings to be confirmed).

They would like to involve graduates from a range of courses and careers, and each panel will be hosted by a professional to ensure that conversation keeps moving and students are encouraged to engage and ask questions. If you’d like to be involved, please email Jackie Powell on jackiep@glos.ac.uk

The theme of this year’s festival will be ‘Future-proof your career’ – so if you feel you could contribute any extra workshops or insights during the week outside of the Alumni Stories panel, we’d welcome your input! Please let Jackie know.

Interested in mentoring our students? The YFP team are launching an alumni mentoring programme in early 2021, which aims to match current students from all courses with a range of UoG graduates. This is a great way for you to share your knowledge and experience as well as enhance your coaching and mentoring skills. If you’re interested in being a mentor, please email employerengagement@glos.ac.uk
