Teacher training student Rob is awarded MBE in New Year Honours List


University of Gloucestershire student Rob Burrows has been awarded an MBE in the New Year Honours List after helping to raise thousands of pounds to support rough sleepers.

Now training to be a teacher on the University’s School Direct PGCE Teaching Training programme, Rob received the award in recognition of services to the financial sector and to the community while employed as assistant branch manager at Nationwide bank in Bath.

Those services to the community included the installation of a contactless donation point at the branch to allow people to make quick and easy donations and make a positive difference to the lives of rough sleepers.
