New research encourages seated workers to fidget for health reasons

Working from home is putting people at increased risk of cardiovascular disease, but regular ‘leg fidgeting’ can help, according to new research.

Studies by University of Gloucestershire are uncovering how regular ‘leg fidgeting’ could improve the cognitive function of adults who find themselves sitting for extended periods of time and potentially damaging their health.

Experts from the University’s School of Sport and Exercise have found that home and office workers are spending increased amounts of time sitting, threatening a rise in cognitive and cardiovascular health problems.
