University sports scholar wins BUCS judo title

University of Gloucestershire student Chloe Robyns-Landricombe has secured another national judo title at the 2022-2023 British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) Championships.

The former British champion, a sports scholar enrolled on the University’s BSc Physiotherapy degree programme, won the gold medal in the women’s U57kg category of the showpiece competition at the University of Wolverhampton.

Chloe beat semi-final opponent Rachel Hall (Staffordshire University) by ippon (which immediately ends a judo match), as a result of a throw. She scored another ippon, this time finishing the match by hold, to overcome Alana Taylor (Bournemouth) in the final. You can read more about this story on the University website.
