175 Years of Teaching and Training | A Celebration

Where: The Chapel, Francis Close Hall

Cost: Free

Celebrating 175 years of teaching and learning, we are delighted to host a service of thanksgiving at the University Chapel.

This is an opportunity to give thanks for the vision of those who first established a college for training teachers in Cheltenham, and for the ongoing training and teaching of generations of students over the last 175 years, including at St Paul’s and St Mary’s Colleges, the joint College and now the University of Gloucestershire.

The Bishop of Tewkesbury, Rt Revd Robert Springett, who serves on the University Council will be giving the address.

The current Chaplaincy Team will be happy to welcome you to our Sanctuary spaces at Park Campus and Francis Close Hall before the service for those who would like a trip down memory lane, and lunchtime refreshments will be on sale in the Refectories there.

The event is from 2.30pm until 4.30pm, with the service taking place from 2.30pm until 3.30pm, followed by tea and cake, and the opportunity to continue reminiscing in the Refectory at Francis Close Hall.

Admission is free.
