It’s nearly Advent…

Reflections

Advent is a great time to do a little reflecting as we come towards the end of the year (and before the mad busyness of Christmas). For the last couple of years some of us have signed up to receive a daily Advent email from Brian Draper. Brian writes beautifully about how our inner life connects with this season, in all its spiritual and natural beauty. If you would like to be included, contact Simon.

Also this week, members of the Chaplaincy team are running a YFP workshop on Religion in the Workplace on Wednesday afternoon from 3.15pm at FCH Chapel. It should be an interesting afternoon – students can book on here.

We’ll also be exploring this theme at Cake and Chat at FCH Chapel on Monday from 5pm (with gingerbread people). On Tuesday the Dog Walking will be leaving the Chapel at 12.30pm.

On Tuesday evening there is a follow up meeting for those at the Interfaith Week event who want to take the conversation about Faith and climate change further – come to Park Faith Space at 7.00pm.

Also on Tuesday at 1pm there will be Carol Singing practice at Oxstalls Faith Space in preparation for the Growth Hub Festive Fayre on 5th December. On Friday from 2-4pm Festive Baking will be a chance to make Advent gingerbread. And the last Calm sessions are on Thursday at 1.30pm at FCH Faith Space, and Friday at 12.30pm at Park Faith Space.

Otherwise our usual events will be running all week. And don’t forget the University Carol Service! Thursday 12th December (think there’s something else on that day…) at 6.30pm – mince pies and mulled wine from 5.30pm.
