As such he has directly influenced the \u2018new nature writing\u2019 and writers as celebrated as Robert Macfarlane and Richard Mabey.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family:Calibri, sans-serif;font-size:small\">It is thus a major coup to attract him to the University of Gloucestershire.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Calibri, sans-serif;font-size:small\">Professor Ingold\u2019s talk will draw on his recent work on the philosophy of Maurice Merleau-Ponty, engaging with what he calls \u2018the<i>meshwork\u2019 &#8211;\u00a0<\/i>the\u00a0lines of growth and movement we pursue as we move in and through the world. He will use these perspectives to consider the relationship between human existence and the\u00a0<i>atmosphere<\/i>\u00a0of light, sound and feeling. Or, as he succinctly puts it, \u201cbetween lines and the weather\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family:Calibri, sans-serif;font-size:small\">He will be speaking on <strong>Friday 31<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0January at 7.30pm in TC001<\/strong> on the Francis Close Hall Campus.
