Often heart-breaking,\u00a0<em>Wife After Death<\/em>\u00a0also sparkles with humour and intelligence and won Best Personal Blog in the Blog North Awards. Now it&#8217;s the inspiration for Lucie&#8217;s memoir, <em>Me After You<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/uniofglos.blog\/creativewriting\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2019\/01\/lucie-brownlee.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1627\" alt=\"Lucie Brownlee\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/uniofglos.blog\/creativewriting\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2019\/01\/lucie-brownlee.jpg?resize=150%2C150&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Me After You\u00a0<\/em>charts Lucie&#8217;s first two years of widowhood. Kate Moore, Editorial Director of Virgin Books, said she was &#8216;blown away&#8217; by the book proposal, while Lucie&#8217;s literary agent, Jemima Hunt (also a graduate of the University of Gloucestershire Creative Writing MA), told <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thebookseller.com\/news\/brownlee-buy-virgin.html\" target=\"_blank\">The Bookseller<\/a>\u00a0she was &#8216;struck by the raw honesty, humour and perfect sense of timing.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Lucie\u00a0holds an\u00a0MA in Creative and Critical Writing from the University of Gloucestershire, and while studying at UoG her story\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/books\/2010\/aug\/14\/lucie-brownlee-summer-short-story\" target=\"_blank\">&#8216;T-Shirt Weather&#8217;<\/a>\u00a0was shortlisted for\u00a0<em>The Guardian<\/em>\u00a0Short Story Prize.\u00a0She currently runs creative writing classes for young authors and is in the early stages of a PhD.
