As those who’ve submitted will know, this year’s anthology of new writing at UoG – Compass<\/em> <\/a>– is now closed to submissions.\u00a0 The editorial team is using this conveniently timed activity week to avidly read through all your wonderful submissions – of which there were over 100 in total, which is truly amazing.\u00a0 Those who missed the deadline, fear not – there are plenty of other publishing opportunites out there, and you can take inspiration from fellow students who are continuing to make a name for themselves – check out the good news below.<\/p>\n

\"OLYMPUS<\/a>First up, a couple of familiar names.\u00a0 Thanks in part to the support and votes of the UoG cohort, BA student Phil Bowne has won the ‘Story of the Month’ contest at Bartleby Snopes<\/a>, which means his story, ‘Forget-Me-Not’ will be appearing in their annual print issue.\u00a0 So many thanks to all who voted – that’s Team UoG in action for you.\u00a0 Furthermore, Phil has placed a new story with the Atticus Review<\/em><\/a> – so watch this space for details on that.\u00a0 Atticus Review<\/em> has been very supportive of our students, as this month they have also published Matt Paul’s new story, the intriguingly and wonderfully titled ‘Pigs is Pigs,’ which is available to read online here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"Logo500x162FG\"<\/a>But wait – that’s not all.\u00a0 This time we can add a few new names to the mix.\u00a0 BA student Amy Ford has had three – that’s right, three – poems accepted in The Dawntreader<\/a> poetry journal, while MA student Sam Kemp will have his poem, ‘My Understanding Is That It’ published in Angle Poetry Journal<\/a>.\u00a0 Well done all – it’s getting harder to keep up with these successes!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
