2015 UoG Novel Contest Results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/uniofglos.blog\/creativewriting\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2019\/01\/2015-10-28-07-58-31.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2472 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/uniofglos.blog\/creativewriting\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2019\/01\/2015-10-28-07-58-31.jpg?resize=300%2C225&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"2015-10-28 07.58.31\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a>It&#8217;s been a whirlwind couple of weeks here at UoG, with a plethora (big word alert) of exciting events and happenings.\u00a0 One of the biggest was the launch of the <em>Compass<\/em> anthology, the latest addition to the New Writing series showcasing the best work by students on our BA, MA, and PhD programmes.\u00a0 The event on campus included launch promotions and readings by nine brave contributors, and the turnout was tremendous.\u00a0 Afterwards a large portion of the audience trekked across Cheltenham for further fun, food, and drinks at The Swan pub.\u00a0 The editorial team &#8211; MA students from last year&#8217;s HM7106 module &#8211; wanted to thank all those who supported the event, and helped make the night such a success.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/uniofglos.blog\/creativewriting\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2019\/01\/phil-bowne4.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2392 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/uniofglos.blog\/creativewriting\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2019\/01\/phil-bowne4.jpg?resize=150%2C150&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Phil Bowne\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Coinciding with the launch was the announcement of the results of the 2015 UoG Novel Writing Contest.\u00a0 The selections were sent to us by literary agent Becky Thomas, now of Johnson &amp;
