July is the time when universities in the UK find out how well they have done in the previous year, in the opinion of the only people who really count and that\u2019s the students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, we’re talking about the National Student Survey scores. We are beyond delighted to announce that the Creative Writing team at the University of Gloucestershire has excelled in this year\u2019s NSS scores with a student satisfaction rate of a staggering 91%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are over the moon! This fantastic score reflects the enormous commitment of our staff towards our students, towards their learning, their wellbeing and their overall university experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s an understatement to say that we have all worked under\ndifficult conditions this year. And our students have studied under staggeringly\ntough conditions, too. However, University of Gloucestershire is a place where\nstaff and students form a tight community, where we know each student by their name\nand will always go the extra mile for them. Working as such a close-knit team\nhas helped both them and us to successfully get through these difficult times. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite all the challenges of online teaching and lockdown, 100% agreed with the statement \u201cI have been able to contact staff when I needed to\u201d. Time is our most valuable resource and the one we most readily spend on our students, and it\u2019s brilliant to see this recognised. And let\u2019s not forget our teaching \u2013 another fantastically high satisfaction score of 93.8%, with an amazing 100% agreeing with \u201cStaff are good at explaining things\u201d and a fantastic 91% agreeing with \u201cStaff have made the subject interesting\u201d, \u201cThe course is intellectually stimulating\u201d and \u201cMy course has challenged me to achieve my best work\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s time to celebrate so we\u2019re off to pop the cork\u2026..
