Graduate News: Erin McGurk

This just in from 2017 graduate Erin McGurk.
“I have recently been in contact with a local secondary school and sixth form about the issues surrounding social media and the way it can affect the mental health of students. I showed them my film – created as part of my FMP – and they were eager to work with me . As a result they want me to host an evening for parents and invite local organisations to show them the film and lead a presentation on research around the subject which I feel well prepared for having done a lot research into the topic for my Final Major Project”.
“Having spoken with the Head of Support at the school, my passion and drive to publicise this matter has heightened as more and more people are talking and noticing this problem but there’s a lack of guidance of how to tackle the issue”.
T”his is a positive step the right direction for me and I am keen to see how it develops. I am pleased that my film is having the desired impact on a wider audience and allowing me to create a conversation from the issues it address’s”.
