Music Photographer Adam Chandler’s work spans, music portraiture, live music photography, band promotional work and explores subcultures that exist within different music genres.

Here, Adam talks about his most recent success in the Heavy Music Awards 2019 Young Photographer of the Year Competition.

‘I was lucky enough to have been a finalist in the Heavy Music Awards 2019 Young Photographer of the Year Competition with this image of the band ‘Turnstile’. The image is of the lead singer ‘Brendan Yates’ just after he jumped off a huge set of speakers head first into the crowd in ‘The Globe’ in Cardiff. Although I didn’t win the competition I was really overwhelmed that I managed to be shortlisted and make it through to the final round of judging. This year saw the most amount of entries the competition had ever had and there were also fewer photographers shortlisted for the final judging round. I’d like to say a huge thanks to the judges ‘Jennifer McCord’ and ‘Corinne Cumming’ and also to the huge amount of support that I received over the course of the competition.’
