Skitch app for annotating
5th October 2018
Skitch is a free app that allows you to annotate images and maps – it’s ideal if you are going on a field trip or school visit.
It doesn’t take a lot to get your head around the app. It’s as easy as snapping a photo on your tablet and using the tools on the right-hand side to add arrows, text, labels and even pixelate. Within the maps feature you can use your location to annotate, or alternatively search for a place anywhere around the world to mark up.
There are other features such as annotating for web, which links with the Evernote app, as well as a basic draw setting which gives you a blank canvas.
It took me less than 2 minutes to label this image of the University of Gloucestershire’s FCH campus. Of course, I didn’t have to annotate it there and then – I could have waited until I was back in the building too.
Watch my video to see how quickly it takes me to mark up an image using Skitch.
If you are a staff member or student within the School of Education at the University of Gloucestershire and would like to be given a demo of this then please e-mail Tom Brunsdon or Claire Shadwell to arrange a time.
