Teacher Training PGCE Primary

Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)

If you already have a degree, preferably in a subject that is relevant to the school curriculum, you can gain QTS by following the one-year, full-time Postgraduate Certificate of Education – either PGCE Primary or PGCE Secondary, depending on your area of interest.

Whichever you choose, you will have the opportunity of gaining 60 masters-level credits with clear progression onto the MA programme which will be beneficial if you’re looking to develop your knowledge at a later point.

PGCE Primary

Our PGCE Primary Teacher Education course aims to prepare you for entry into the teaching profession, developing your expertise in teaching children aged either three to seven years, or five to 11 years.

This course gives a high priority to school-based learning and to developing your abilities of analysis, evaluation and autonomous learning and development.
