Summer on Campus
30th July 2019
What do lecturers do over the summer? Well, apart from taking a holiday and planning next year’s teaching, the summer is a chance to catch up on some research. Carrying out research is what gives academics the expertise to teach at a high level. English lecturers at the University of Gloucestershire have published books and articles on a wide range of topics including Shakespeare, Wordsworth, discourse analysis, crime fiction, American literature, feminism, dialects, travel writing, Thomas Hardy, contemporary poetry, sociolinguistics, Victorian literature, and the language of environmental issues. Writing about English literature and language means we are passionate about teaching these subjects too!
