Professor Margaret Price


Margaret Price, Professor Emerita of Assessment and Learning at Oxford Brookes University UK, is a researcher with strong roots in the practice of teaching and assessment in higher education. She was awarded a UK National Teaching Fellowship in 2002 in recognition of her excellence in teaching and contribution to the development of learning, teaching and assessment in higher education. From 2005 – 2016 she was Director of ASKe Pedagogy Research Centre, a centre for excellence in learning and teaching.

Her work focuses on the nature of assessment standards and student engagement with assessment and feedback. These are brought together in the concept of assessment literacy and how this can support the learning of all students. Margaret has been involved in a wide range of research and development of practice projects at an institutional, national and international level to encourage innovation and foster evidence-based assessment practice within the HE sector. She is currently working on the 5-year OfS-funded Degree Standards: External Examining project.
