An online conversation and Q&A with designer, writer and curator Lucienne Roberts.

Director of studio LucienneRoberts+ , she asserts that design is always political. She is committed to making accessible, engaging work with a socially aware agenda. As co-founder of design advocacy initiative GraphicDesign& with educator Rebecca Wright, her projects inform and challenge, making visible networks of relation between design and the world.

Her book Good: an Introduction to Ethics in Graphic Design (2006) has contributed significantly to the understanding of ethics and responsible practice in design. Her curatorial projects include Can Graphic Design Save Your Life (2017) at the Wellcome Institute, and From Hope to Nope: Graphics and Politics 2008-2018 at the Design Museum.

In conversation with senior lecturer Jean Boyd, from the School of Arts at the University of Gloucestershire.

The event will be chaired by Rebekkah Hughes, currently studying MDes Graphic Design. Rebekkah’s research interests include ethical design and publication that supports education.
