SWA/Balsley is a New York City-based design firm that specializes in urban landscape architecture in both
the public and private realms. The firm’s diverse portfolio in New York and around the world includes awardwinning
landscapes of all types and scales, including parks, plazas, streetscapes and waterfronts.
We are offering a full-time paid internships from July to end of December 2021 to students with outstanding
design sensbilities and exemplary graphic, written, and verbal communication abilities. Candidates should
demonstrate expertise in digital graphics and/or experience in technical documentation.
Our studio environment offers interns an opportunity to interact directly with Tom Balsley, the 2015 recipient
of the prestigious ASLA Design Medal, and a team of experienced designers at SWA/Balsley and SWA Group.
All staff at SWA/Balsley have returned to the office and are working collaboratively in the studio following
all recommended health and safety protocols. It is anticipated that the interns will join the team in the office
to maximize collaboration and hands-on learning.
