SuDS MASTERCLASSES
2nd November 2024
Robert Bray Associates will be running some masterclasses in Bristol in November, of particular interest to students (discounted prices): we are offering 60% discount up to 10 tickets for each masterclass. Please use the code – save60 – when booking.
Covering hot topics of the moment, the classes are:
Integrated SuDS Design (19th Nov) - This level 1 masterclass will teach you how to design integrated, multi-functional and multi-beneficial SuDS starting at the masterplanning and concept design level. This is where key decisions are made that pave the way for successful landscape-led, multifunctional SuDS allowing SuDS designers to keep control of how the management of rainwater will impact and contribute to the wider landscape design. It will also help your projects avoid the common pitfalls that lead to negative landscape impacts and expensive, high maintenance outcomes. This interactive and engaging one-day course is an essential gateway to more technical level 2 and 3 masterclasses. Find out more…

Urban Raingarden Design Masterclass (20th Nov) – This level 3, technical masterclass explores the use and design of bioretention raingardens to manage polluted runoff from urban hard surfaces. Exploring optioneering, hydraulic calculations, technical detailing, soils and plants, and including practical design and calculation exercises, this masterclass is essential learning for anyone getting involved in the burgeoning area of highway raingardens. SuDS, Ecology & Biodiversity Net Gain Masterclass (21st Nov) – This level 2 masterclass explores how to design SuDS, or influence SuDS design, to optimise benefits to wildlife and how this fits with the new mandatory Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) requirements that came into force in early 2024. We’re joined by leader in the field of biodiversity in public realm, Peter Massini, and explore both his experiences of BNG, how this relates to landscape design and SuDS, as well as explore the general principles of ecological design applied to SuDS landscapes.
