New building, New term

Last week, the Law School, along with some of our fellow courses, moved into the new Business School at Oxstalls Campus.

The £16 million building has been purpose built to enhance teaching & learning for students, incorporating learning technologies into the classroom and creating plenty of social study space.

Of particular significance to the Law School is the new Moot Court (based in OX-BG-118) where we can host internal and external mooting competitions, as well as utilise the space for in-class formative and summative learning activities.  Not only is there the judges’ table and counsel space, there is also a witness stand and jury box which our old Moot room did not provide.  If were considering trying mooting, the new Moot Court is the perfect excuse to start!

We are now just weeks away from the start of term and are looking forward to welcoming new and returning students to the new building.

We are also excited to welcome a new member of staff: Dr Natasha Hammond-Browning. Natasha has recently joined the University of Gloucestershire from the University of Southampton. She is an experienced law lecturer with research interests in health care law, principally reproductive technologies, embryo research, and surrogacy. Natasha is looking forward to teaching Tort, Property, Family, and Medical Law at Gloucestershire.

For new students, induction week is commencing 10th September, with teaching for Levels 4-6 starting on 17th September.

Please do come and find us to say hi and see our new offices:
