Alumni Spotlight: Training Contract Successes

Clannad, 2020 UoG Law Graduate

It’s that time of the year when we start to see some of the exciting opportunities our past students have been offered, including the prized training contract offer.

One of graduates, Clannad, has spoken to us about her journey from finishing her degree to working towards obtaining a training contract. Clannad joined us at the University of Gloucestershire in 2017 and graduated in 2020. During her time with us, Clannad took full advantage of all of the opportunities provided, particularly in relation to extra-curricular and future plan events, as well as working part-time alongside her studies.

“I studied the LLB and graduated in June 2020, after a frantic and strange three months trying to finish the LLB during lockdown. After graduating with a high 2.1, I was offered a scholarship from BPP Law School to study the LPC, which I am currently undertaking part-time while working full-time in the Legal Team at UK top 25 accounting firm, Hazlewoods LLP. It is an absolutely fantastic firm to work for, which has given me a wealth of different experiences.

That experience undoubtedly helped me with securing a vacation scheme at prestigious law firm Addleshaw Goddard. I hope to convert the vacation scheme in to a training contract offer in July 2021, and I will then commence my training contract in September 2023.

Studying the LPC part-time has non-career focussed perks too, as it allowed me to save up enough money to buy my first house, a sweet little three bedroom terrace in Cheltenham”.

We are absolutely delighted to announce that since the time of writing, Clannad has been offered a training contract with Addleshaw Goddard and will commence this in September 2023.
