Spring is the time for plans and projects: this is what the Wellbeing Garden has planned for YOU!

Hey everyone, it’s Will from Live Smart and here’s a quick update to share everything we have planned for our Wellbeing and Gardening space at Park Campus now that spring time is on the way!

First of all… where is it?

It may have been a while since you last visited the garden or could be your first time coming along, either way, its number 14 on the map below!

This semester, we are continuing our regular sessions that take place every Wednesday and Friday between 2.30-4pm where you will be joined by myself and other keen students.

So… what have we got planned for the spring that you can join in with?

FEBRUARY 2022

Wednesday 23rd February – Bug Hotel Building Workshop!

A bug hotel is just the habitat we need in the garden! It provides a safe environment for our small important creatures, and will last a long time! We need YOUR help to collect dead materials, build the hotel and furnish it ready for our small guests to move in! It’s a fun way to take time away from the studying, reduce stress, make new friends and give something back to our insect community.

MARCH 2022

March is a busy month for the garden and we’re going to need a lot of help! This month is when veg planting really kicks off. No experience is needed with gardening at all, just enthusiasm and some old clothes that you don’t mind getting a tad muddy.

Here are the dates you need to save…

  • Wednesday 2nd March – Cucumber Seed Sowing
  • Wednesday 9th March – Leek Sowing
  • Wednesday 16th March – Creative Nature Workshop!
  • Friday 18th March – Cauliflower and Lettuce Planting
  • Friday 25th March – Pepper and Spinach Planting
  • Wednesday 30th March – Garden Games

APRIL 2022

  • Friday 1st April – Lettuce planting
  • Wednesday 6th April – Potato and Leek planting
  • Friday 8th April – Spring onion planting

That’s what we have planned up to Easter – busy, I know! I really look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible!
