I am a Lecturer in Digital Marketing. My career in the fashion sector encompassed both retailing and buying roles, for brands Warehouse and Cotton Traders respectively. This experience and her current research within three-dimensional body scanning, virtual and augmented reality retailing topics informs my teaching on both undergraduate and postgraduate digital marketing and research modules.
I have 12 years of industry experience. My main area of expertise has been in trade marketing and customer marketing within the multiple grocery and wholesale channel. I’ve also been involved in various consultancy projects for SMEs. More recently in the UK, I worked for a leading beverage company, in customer marketing and management roles before joining the University as a Lecturer in Marketing.
I teach on a range of courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and supervise PhD and DBA students. My main areas of research interest are Service Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Customer Relationship Management and Consumer Behaviour.
I have always loved retail and following my MA worked as a buyer in the fashion industry. Returning to academia I was integral in the implementation of entrepreneurship within fashion, textile and business modules. To be able to inspire and encourage the next generation motivates me to lecture and engage with students.
Combining my interest in marketing, my passion for music and my background in the leisure and music retail industries, has given me the enthusiasm to teach on modules including Marketing Principles, Marketing Communications, Marketing Research and Analysis, New Product and Brand Development, e-Interactivity and Social Media, and How Brands Work. My research is in how consumers influence each other through both physical and digital environments to attend live music and share their experiences.
With an industry career that spans 20 years, I love storytelling in all forms (except musicals), and believe that great storytelling is at the heart of any brilliant marketing department. The scope of the projects I have worked on has meant I have a high level of expertise in SEO, PPC, Social media advertising, UX measurement, CRM integration and digital content creation. I have developed VR and embedded 360 content using emerging technologies.
