Hi David, I’m not sure but it sounded to me as though Peter Kernaghan (at 1:25) was claiming that Bhikkhu Bodhi said ultimate nibbāna constituted “a blissful, heavenly rebirth”. Does he have a reference? I would be shocked if he said such a thing since it contradicts key Nikāya claims.
I’ll have to check – but you’re right- nibbana sure ain’t no rebirth!
I believe I’ve heard him say quite the opposite several times … so I am wondering if this was a mistake of some sort on his part or perhaps a misunderstanding.
Just an error due to the *pressure* of the cameras- at a guess!
