Forging strong links with professional bodies and the business community, courses run by the School of Business and Technology are designed to give you the skills you need for the working world. Over 30 years we have established an innovative portfolio of business and computing programmes as well as a range of up-to-date course titles to reflect the rapid progress of computing technology and the needs of business, industry and public organisations as well as education and social life.
Staff within the school work closely with local industry and government institutions to ensure we are able to provide students with courses that are relevant and current and therefore provide a good platform for employment. You will have many opportunities to work on ‘live’ projects for external clients and so gain real world experience whilst you study for your degree. In addition, we offer a range of modes of study including full-time, part-time, four-year sandwich degrees with a year placement and fast-track degrees enabling you to get into industry faster. Underpinned by research, we offer high quality and academically rigorous undergraduate, postgraduate, professional and research student opportunities. We have a strong vocational focus and offer a variety of guest speakers and opportunities for work placements to help you gain vital hands-on experience. These, together with our teaching methods, develop your skills ready for the workplace. We provide class sizes where you will be able to get to know your fellow students and will ensure you are taught by our key staff. We consider this the best way to help you succeed. Our staff members have both an academic background and extensive experience in practice or business and are approachable and supportive, creating an excellent student experience.
