A new University Archives and Special Collections display on local history resources is now up in the Crush Hall at FCH. On show is a selection of the material researchers can use to aid research into local history, whether in Gloucestershire or beyond.

We hold a wide selection of material of aid to the local historian, including location-specific books and journals from the Bristol and Gloucestershire Archaeological Society (BGAS) Library, aids and guides on palaeography, Latin, and different types of documents including tithe maps, charter rolls, state papers, domesday survey and other government records.

On display are items from several of our collections, the BGAS Library, Archive Collection (books and dissertations relating to our other collections), University Archive (information on our immediate locality of Cheltenham and Gloucester and the history of the institution), and the Local Heritage Initiative (LHI) Collection (community projects throughout England).

If you are at FCH please go and have a look!
