Albert Ernest Exall was a student between 1908 – 1910, having previously been a pupil at Lord Scudamore’s Endowed School, Hereford. He gained a first class teaching qualification and later emigrated to Canada.

Albert joined the Canadian Light Infantry (Eastern Ontario Regiment) as a Private and died on 9 April 1917, age 27. He is buried at Lievin Communal Cemetery Extension where his headstone reads “A Daily Thought, An Everlasting Memory”. Albert had previously been buried elsewhere, then exhumed and re-buried. His parents George and Elizabeth lived at Blackwood, Monmouthshire.
