Albert Gray Straker originated from Blyth in Northumberland and was a student from 1911 – 1913. He had previously attended Crofton Mixed School in Blyth.
He joined the 7th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, becoming a Second Lieutenant. Albert died on 3 October 1916 and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, having no known grave.
