Albert Reginald Cook was born in 1895 to Albert Reginald and Emily Cook of The Rowans, St Mark’s.
He enlisted as a Private in the 1st/5th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment on 2 September 1914 and served in France until 29 March 1915 when he was invalided and sent back to England. He was hospitalised at Suffolk Hall VAD Hospital in Chelteham where he died of diabetes on 21 March 1916, age 21. He left a wife, Leah May Cook, in Moseley, Birmingham. Albert is buried in Cheltenham Cemetery.
