Arthur Thomas Hiron was born to Thomas and Lucy Hiron in Cheltenham. He married Emily and they lived at 4 Melrose Cottages, Rosehill Street.
Arthur joined the Army Service Corps before being transferred to the 1st/ 6th Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment as a Private. He was wounded during the final weeks of the conflict and died on 15 October 1918 at a hospital in Le Tréport, age 38. Arthur is buried at Mont Huon Military Cemetery where his headstone reads “I am with you always, even unto the end”.
