Charles Arthur Bishop was born in 1887 to Charles and Olive Bishop of 12 Portland Terrace, Pittville.

Charles became a Corporal in the Royal Army Medical Corps after enlisting in Cirencester. He was serving with the 68 Field Ambulance in Salonica when he was killed by shell fire on 3 August 1917, aged 30. He left a widow, Florrie, living at 25 Fairview Road. Charles is buried at the Sarigol Military Cemetery in Kriston, modern-day Greece, after being initially exhumed.
