Charles Bennett Horn was a pupil teacher at Hermit Road School in Canning Town before coming to train as a teacher in Cheltenham. He was a member of the 1904 – 1906 year group. After college he worked as a Schoolmaster for London County Council and married Emma. They lived at “Oakside”, County Oak, Crawley, Sussex.

Charles enlisted as a Private in the Royal Army Medical Corps and died on 17 July 1918, age 34. He is buried in Lowfield Heath (St Michael) Churchyard in Crawley. His headstone reads “Thy Will O Lord Be Done”.
