Charles Weller was born in Cobham, Surrey, before moving to Cheltenham and attending St Paul’s Practising School. He then went on to Marry Florence Ellen.

Charles initially enlisted in the Gloucestershire Regiment before becoming a Private in the 1st Battalion Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry. He died on 23 October 1918 while fighting in the Battle of the Selle. Charles was 33 years old. He was initially buried then exhumed and reburied at Amerval Communal Cemetery Extension, Solesmes where his headstone reads “Peace Perfect Peace”.
