Christie Archibald Benham, born on 22 October 1893, was the son of George Benham and lived at 6 Windsor Street. He attended St Paul’s Practising School, and before that Winchcombe Boys’ School.
He emigrated to Australia and enlisted as a Private in the 7th Light Horse Regiment. He was killed in action at Jaffa, Palestine on 14 November 1917, age 24. Christie has no known grave and is commemorated on the Palestine Memorial.
