Cyril George Lloyd originally came from Wiltshire and was the son of Robert and Ada Lloyd, living at 46 Courtenay Street.

Cyril enlisted as a Private in the 19th (Garrison) Battalion Hampshire Regiment. He died of pneumonia on 27 November 1918, while in a Canadian hospital in France. He was 28. Cyril is buried at Longuenesse (St Omer) Souvenir Cemetery where his headstone reads “Never Forgotten by his Mother, Elsie and Bert”.
