Edmund Woods was a student at Cheltenham Training College 1912 – 1914. Originally from Blackburn, he became a member of the college harriers running team.
He was a Lieutenant in the 4th Battalion East Lancashire Regiment and died at Gallipoli on 12 August 1915, aged 21. Edmund was Mentioned in Dispatches for his conduct and is commemorated on the Helles Memorial in Turkey. He has no known grave.
