Ernest Davis, born on 11 April 1889, was the son of Thomas and Emily Davis. He attended Cheltenham Parish School (administered by St Paul’s Practising School) from June 1900, and left in July 1903. During his schooling he lived at 20A New Street, Cheltenham.
Ernest became a Private in the Army Service Corps and died of pneumonia on 25 October 1918, aged 29. His address at the time was 9 Ewlyn Terrace, Fairview Road. Ernest is buried at Cheltenham Cemetery. He died on the same day and of the same disease as fellow Practising School pupil Hubert William Duncan Brewster.
