Frank George Haines had been a pupil at the Practising School from 1899, and later became a fitter at an architectural and monumental sculptors company in Cheltenham and member of the National Reserve force.

He was called up and became a Lance Corporal of the Royal Engineers. Frank was killed by shellfire on 9 May 1915 having only been in France 2 months. He is buried at Trois Arbres Cemetery.
