Frank Martin was the eldest son of Charles, a grocer, and Sarah Ann. He was born on 28 February 1877 and attended the Practising School from 12 November 1883 to 19 December 1890. During this time he lived at 1 Monson Parade.

Frank emigrated to Australia in 1903 where he married and lived in Sydney. He joined the 1st Battalion Australian Infantry as a Private in August 1915. Frank died at the village of Pozières on 23 July 1916, probably being hit by German machine gun fire. He has no known grave and is commemorated at Villers-Bretonneux Memorial.
