Frederick Arthur Nind was born in Cheltenham and after leaving school became a Clerk at Messers A C Billings & Son Builders in Winchcombe Street. He married Eleanor and lived at 56 Albert Street in St Paul’s.

Frederick became a Lance Corporal in the 15th Battalion Durham Light Infantry. He died aged 30 on 9 October 1918 of wounds he received while fighting in the Battle of Cambrai. He is buried at Beaulencourt British Cemetery where his headstone reads “Loved By All”.
