Frederick Clyde Clare was born c.1886 and had been a pupil at St Paul’s Practising School.

He had emigrated to Canada from Cheltenham before the war and was a Private in the 28th Battalion Canadian Infantry. He died of pneumonia on 19 February 1915 aged 29, and is buried in Winnipeg (Brookside) Cemetery.
