George Fisher was the youngest son of Charles and Susan Fisher, born in 1883. He lived at 34 Swindon Road and after leaving the Practising School went to work for the Gloucestershire Co-operative Wholesale Society.

George emigrated to Canada on 8 March 1911 where he enlisted in the 24th Battalion Canadian Infantry. He was wounded in the Somme region of France and sent to recover at a private hospital in London where he died on 20 December 1916, aged 33. George is buried in Kensal Green Cemetery where his headstone reads “His Motto was Duty”.
