George Henry Roberts was a Cheltenham Training College student in the 1915 – 1917 year group, although left to enlist before finishing his studies. He was the son of William Ainsworth Roberts and Frances Roberts, of Woodseats, Sheffield.
George was a Private in the York and Lancaster Regiment who died on 19 July 1916, aged 19. He is buried at the Authuile Military Cemetery in the Somme region of France.
