George Henry Strong came from Bath and attended Cheltenham Training College between 1905 -1907. Whilst a student he was a member of the college rugby team.
George went on to become a Lieutenant in the 2nd Nigeria Regiment, West African Frontier Force. He died on 3 January 1917 and is buried at Dar Es Salaam (Upanga Road) Cemetery in Tanzania, having previously been exhumed from Beho-Beho in August 1918.
