Guy Billie Gillespie was born in Canada in 1895 before emigrating to England.
He enlisted as a Private in the 8th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, giving his home as Tennessee, USA. He died on 28 August 1917 while training in Le Nieppe, Belgium. The cause of his death is unknown and he has no known grave. Guy is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial.
