Harvey Lewis Greenaway attended Painswick Council School before joining the 1914 – 1916 year group. His college nickname was “Smiler” and he was a member of the rugby team. His parents were George and Emily Greenaway.

He enlisted as a Private in the 2nd Battalion Honourable Artillery Company and was awarded the Military Medal for bravery. Harvey was just 25 when he died on 9 August 1918, while fighting in Italy. He is buried in Cavalletto British Cemetery, north west of Venice.
