Henry Francis Mulliss was the son of Henry and Adelaide Mulliss of 65 Stanhope Street, Cheltenham. He was born in 1894 and attended the Practising School.

In April 1915 he enlisted as a Private in the 7th (Service) Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment and travelled to Gallipoli in December of that year. He died fighting in the Lake Doiran area on 31 October 1916 at the age of 23. Henry is buried at the Struma Military Cemetery in modern-day Bulgaria where his headstone reads “R. I. P.”
